Users in Saudi Arabia proved to be the most engaged of the country’s key mobile-first markets (Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, and Israel), with an average of 5.5 hours spent on their phones per day - a full hour more than users in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates who each averaged 4.5 hours per day. The mobile landscape saw growth across the board in the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa) in 2022, with app store spending increasing 10.3% year-on-year to $3.1 billion according to Data.ai’s State of Mobile MENA 2023 report.ĭaily time spent grew 3% to 4.5%, while new downloads increased a massive 45.7% to 13.8 billion - an average of 26,200 apps downloaded per minute.
